Tony Heddon
Tony joined Neuroblastoma UK as Fundraising Trustee prior to being elected their Chair in February 2018. After five years, on the 31st May, Tony Heddon decided to stand down as Chair of Neuroblastoma UK. He will remain a key part of the charity as a member of the Board of Trustees.
He has been a patient and parent expert representative on the NICE single technology appraisal for Dinutiximab beta as well as being a patient and carer expert within the Scottish Medicines Consortium.
In his earlier career, he was part of the Consortia involved in the design, build and operating of the private finance initiatives at St Helens and Knowsley, Sherwood Forest and Peterborough Hospitals. Tony has a background in Industry at UK and European Board level. After an initial career in the hospitality industry, Tony moved into the Contracts market with a series of senior Business Development positions across the UK and Ireland. His final role was as European Vice President for Growth for a large US corporation.
More recently he has worked with local charities to help raise funds to build a new paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton Hospital. He is a recipient of a CREST award for work in training and development of young people. He has recently been chosen to be the Lay member on the technology appraisal and highly specialised technologies appeal panel for NICE.
Aside from this, Tony is a Registrar of Ceremonies and conducts marriages throughout the year and is an invigilator for schools in Hampshire. He is married to Karen and has three daughters Emily, Charlotte and Sophie. His is a keen runner and enjoys rugby (strictly watching nowadays).
