Three year old boy aims for great heights in memory of friend
Three year old Ruairí Maher plans to become the joint youngest person in Britain to climb Scafell Pike, to raise money for childhood cancer research.
On Saturday 31st July 2021, Ruairí will climb Scafell Pike, the tallest mountain in England, in memory of his friend Elara Foxley who sadly passed away in March this year, aged just three years old.
Former Trustee awarded in Queen’s Birthday Honours list
We are delighted to announce that Shirley Clark, former Trustee at Neuroblastoma UK, has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2021.
Shirley has been awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to people with neuroblastoma.
Limited edition bracelet to help little warriors fighting neuroblastoma
South of the River, a fashion boutique based in Beckenham, Kent, is supporting Neuroblastoma UK this summer with a limited edition ‘Warrior’ Tile Bracelet.
Inspired by children with cancer and designed in collaboration with Neuroblastoma UK, each bracelet features white ‘Warrior’ tiles on a yellow and gold bracelet with blue highlights.
South of the River will donate £3 from every ‘Warrior’ tile bracelet purchase to Neuroblastoma UK.
Neuroblastoma UK announces new 2021 Grant Round
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new research Grant Round for 2021.
Postponed from 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, our biennial grant round for 2021 will focus on applications for research that will have the greatest potential impact to improve treatment for children with neuroblastoma.
Developing personalised treatment for ALK-positive neuroblastoma
Thanks to funding from Neuroblastoma UK, post-doctoral research associate Dr Perla Pucci was recruited to join a neuroblastoma research team at the University of Cambridge.
The team, led by Dr Suzanne Turner, are looking to develop more personalised treatment for children with ALK-positive neuroblastoma. Perla tells us more about how the project has progressed.
Family raffle home to raise money for Neuroblastoma UK
The Wilkinson family raffling their home to raise money for Neuroblastoma UK, after their daughter Oonagh was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was 19 months old.
For just £2.50, you could to win this newly refurbished two bedroom house (MORTGAGE FREE and all legal fees and stamp duty paid) plus £5000 cash. A total prize value of over £200,000! Once all tickets are sold, the family will donate a minimum of £40,000 to Neuroblastoma UK.
The raffle closes on Monday 5th April 2021 at 20:00 or when the last ticket is sold (whichever sooner).

Our Patron Alan Carr hosted an hour of virtual quizzy fun on Thursday 18th February 2021, LIVE from his home. 50 questions tested your general knowledge, Alan and his husband Paul gave us plenty of laughs and we even had special appearances from chickens!
Scott Mills joins Neuroblastoma UK as new Patron
We are delighted to announce that DJ and broadcaster Scott Mills joins Neuroblastoma UK as our new Patron.
The BBC Radio 1 and Radio 5 Live host first supported Neuroblastoma UK after a friend’s daughter was diagnosed with this aggressive cancer. Scott will help the charity to raise awareness of neuroblastoma and champion the work of Neuroblastoma UK to raise vital funds.
New immunotherapy shows promise for treating neuroblastoma
A novel CAR T-cell therapy designed to target cancerous tumours has shown promising early results in treating children with neuroblastoma.
The original pre-clinical work was funded by Neuroblastoma UK to help launch the study. Dr Karin Straathof, one of the lead investigators on the study, tells us more.
