New Parent Booklet

Working in partnership with the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG), our Parent Booklet has been fully updated and revised.  The booklet is designed for parents and carers of a child who has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma. We hope it answers some of your questions and helps you to cope with some of the feelings you may have. There is information about neuroblastoma, the treatments that are used and their possible side effects. It also discusses how a cancer diagnosis can affect you, your child and the rest of the family.

Reviewed and edited by CCLG members and Neuroblastoma UK Medical Trustees Professor Deborah Tweddle (Professor of Paediatric Oncology, Newcastle) and Dr Kate Wheeler (Consultant Paediatric Oncologist, Oxford) in conjunction with the CCLG Neuroblastoma Special Interest Group. Reviewed by Neuroblastoma UK and the CCLG Publications Committee, comprising multiprofessional experts in the field of children's cancer.

Alongside the booklet, a new factsheet has been produced, 'Treatment options for relapsed or refractory high risk neuroblastoma'. This factsheet aims to inform parents about treatment opportunities that are available in the UK for treating children with relapsed or refractory (disease that isn't responding to treatment) neuroblastoma.

Written by Dr Gail Halliday, Dr Sally George, Dr Daniel Morgenstern, Professor Deborah Tweddle and Dr Kate Wheeler on behalf of the CCLG Neuroblastoma Special Interest Group and produced in conjunction with Neuroblastoma UK and the CCLG Publications Committee, comprising multiprofessional experts in the field of children's cancer.

You can download the booklet and the factsheet here or visit the CCLG website to order a copy.  All publications listed are free to families and professionals in the UK.
