Committed to our cause

The current and rapidly evolving situation with coronavirus presents significant challenges for the research community and every sector.

At this unprecedented time, everyone’s immediate focus should rightly be on the safety and well being of themselves, their families and those they are responsible for.

The coronavirus and government guidelines are already having a significant impact on neuroblastoma research, now and in the future.

Research institutions are protecting their staff and closing research laboratories, meaning that some researchers cannot continue their work through the crisis. These changes, whilst temporary and very much supported by all of us at Neuroblastoma UK, may affect the pace and progress of vital neuroblastoma research.

We want to reassure everyone we work with that we remain committed, as ever, to funding research to improve treatments - and to one day find a cure for neuroblastoma.

Supporting neuroblastoma research now

Our priority is to support the research that is happening now.

Thanks to your donations, we can ensure that our funded researchers receive the support they need to continue and complete their research successfully.

As a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), we can share knowledge and information about the impact of COVID-19 on research and patients. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss concerns with other medical research charities.

We are also in regular contact with the researchers that you have helped to fund, to understand how their teams are dealing with the crisis, what challenges they are facing and how we can help them.

Funding research beyond the pandemic

But as we face our most challenging times since the charity first began nearly 40 years ago, we need your help now more than ever.

You’ve helped us fund over £7 million of research. Please help us to continue funding this important work in the future.

It is with a heavy heart that we are being forced to consider delaying our next research grant round. This could mean postponing the funding of important research projects for next year and beyond.

We must ensure that research into neuroblastoma continues beyond the pandemic. The significant financial impact of coronavirus on our fundraising activities may mean that we simply can’t afford to support new research.

It is only with your support NOW that we can fund new research in the future.

Support our urgent appeal today

Neuroblastoma doesn’t stop because of coronavirus. And neither will we.

We understand that some families are concerned about coronavirus and the uncertainty about what impact it may have on their child, or their child’s neuroblastoma treatment and care.

Our team is working closely with the clinical community and charity partners to understand this rapidly evolving situation

We are working together to ensure that the neuroblastoma community is provided with as much timely and reliable information as possible.

Unsurprisingly, our fundraising has been hit hard. But our small and dedicated team is committed to raising more money for research, with new campaigns such as our Tribe 100 virtual challenge.

By rallying together, we can continue our fight against neuroblastoma. Thank you to everyone for your support - we couldn’t do it without you.
